“Stop Competing, Start Uplifting”
This year on March 9th, 2019 in honor of International Women’s Day, Be A Starlette in cooperation with Empowered Club owned by Natalie Glebova and Patama Mokaves, held a charity event at Zuma Bangkok. The event was hosted by three powerful women, Talar, Natalie and Patama who invited 32 women from all different walks of life to participate in this uplifting event. A photoshoot was pre arranged, where Talar used her magic to transform these women through styling, makeup and fashion. Again, Talar was enchanted by the reactions from each of these women, as she boosted their confidence to uplift and encourage these women to live a life of authenticity, by looking within themselves to create the best versions of themselves.
Talar reveals; “this segment leading up to the affair, which was the pre event was amazing. I just love watching people look at themselves in the mirror after their make over and see an absolute twinkle in their eyes from pure transformation. Some of the women even got a bit teary eyed, as they saw a completely different reflection of themselves in the mirror. This is the best part of my job as an influencer, when I can literally feel and see that these women never knew the hidden beauty they have until an event like this.”
Local photographers including; Sebastien Husson, Jan Dagga, Tom Barrett and Ploy Phutpheng were the pioneers of the photoshoot as they treated each individual like a superstar. Swanti, Makeup Artist and founder of Swaness was at the event to provide some makeup tips. Her talent through her craft was very well received and her team did an excellent job in revamping some of these women.
Lawyers, models, nannies, writers and teachers were chosen to represent gender equality, coupled with the tag line and theme for the day; “Stop Competing, Start Uplifting.” With immense support for each other, the event was a banding of women together who felt like they belonged to a sisterhood. Talar and the organizer’s shared the proceeds of the day with two charities from the local community. Representatives from the Pratthanadee Foundation and Good Sisters Shepherds establishment, were present to receive donations for their respective charities. Other stellar sponsors within the Bangkok community also partook in this event including; Zuma, Gogoprint, Bangkok University International and Infinity Insurance Company whowere some of the spearheads who uplifted the event by providing venues, print material and donations. A few women were interviewed by Channel 16 TNN and discussed the importance of hosting these kinds of events in support of women around the world, as well as leaning towards contributing to women who are less fortunate and who don’t have the tools or resources to break out of controlling environments. Check out the Youtube link in this section for more information about these women.
A panel discussion with 6 ladies, was a great segway for the audience to hone in on a few aspects that covered adversity in the work place, at home and as entrepreneurs. Talar believes that when we help each other rise, we promote each other’s uniqueness. It is through uplifting each other that we empower, respect and guide each other through the stormy moments in our lives.
Talar says: “never give up, and know that taking risks is the only way we will learn. Through our downfalls and failures, we can only see where we need to grow. Growth is imperative, as well as endless. So let’s make a commitment to never put each other down, but rather give each other hope in a world that sometimes feels void of compassion.”
This year in 2020, Talar will be celebrating International Women’s day again, with a host of women in Bangkok and overseas. Stay tuned for this event, which will be taking place right around the corner. And remember: “You are a star, and stars are meant to shine. Keep glowing, because we all deserve to sparkle.” Talar Artinian
